My YA TBR Pile

I have deemed this winter, my post-semester life, as “Catch up on my YA TBR Pile.”

(Also, I feel like I’m always playing catch-up from a trip. We were gone this weekend (a whole 48 hours to Utah) and I spent much of yesterday reading and commenting on blogs. You guys post a lot!)

So! What’s in my pile? Here it is, in alphabetical order:

A BEAUTIFUL DARK by Jocelyn Davies

THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY OF A PART-TIME INDIAN by Alexie Sherman

ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins (likely to be followed by LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR)

THE BOOK THIEF by Marcus Zusak

CARRIER OF THE MARK by Leigh Fallon

DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE by Laini Taylor

EVERY SOUL A STAR by Wendy Mass

HOLD ME CLOSER, NECROMANCER by Lish McBride

HOURGLASS by Myra McEntire

IMAGINARY GIRLS by Nova Ren Suma

JACOB WONDERBAR AND THE COSMIC SPACE KAPOW by Nathan Bransford

LEVIATHAN by Scott Westerfeld

LOOKING FOR ALASKA by John Green

THE MAZE RUNNER by James Dashner

MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN by Ransom Riggs

THE NIGHT CIRCUS by Erin Morgenstern

ON THE JELLICOE ROAD by Melina Marchetta

PARANORMALCY by Kiersten White (likely to be followed by SUPERNATURALLY)

SHATTER ME by Tahereh Mafi

SHIVER by Maggie Stiefvater

SISTERS RED by Jackson Pearce

THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER by Michelle Hodkin

WARM BODIES by Isaac Marion

ZOMBIES VS. UNICORNS

24 books! I’ll be busy for a while, especially since I have a stack of books I borrowed from a friend this summer that I still need to get through as well. And the books by my fabulous professors. It’ll be fun to have time to read books of my own choosing again! Basically, this list is composed of books I’ve been wanting to read for a while, recommendations from friends, and recent releases that are all the buzz in the blogosphere. Which books am I most excited for? SHATTER ME; HOLD ME CLOSER, NECROMANCER; DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE; ON THE JELLICOE ROAD; PARANORMALCY; and THE BOOK THIEF. But I’m looking forward to reading ALL of them, otherwise they wouldn’t be on the list!

Have you read any of these books? Which ones did you love? Do you have any other suggestions?

  1. Eeek! I haven’t read *any* of them! I’m way behind on YA reading (obviously). Oh well, I’ll get there eventually. Thanks for the tips Kris. I’ll come back to this post when I’m compiling wish lists… or maybe my Christmas list… :)

    • To Cheryl AND Kirsten: I’ve heard great things about ABSOLUTELY TRUE… and I’m really looking forward to it. I haven’t read anything else of Alexie’s work. Perhaps this will be a gateway-book? We’ll see!
